Email - Spam, phising alerts:
It has been brought to our attention that emails are circulating claiming to be from ADEE (in the name of Denis Murphy via an @dental.tcd.ie email, and emails from other ADEE related persons from other email addresses). These emails are normally looking for overdue payment of invoices (with attachments) or are claims looking for funds and scholarship payments. While this may appear to be coming from a valid email address for Mr Murphy, the emails are not emeniating from him. It is likely this email address has be cloned or hacked.
A second type of email comes from an individual who claims to have won an ADEE scholarship and now requires funding to perform same. Usually these persons claim to be female, from Russia or Eastern Europe. Again these claims are unfounded and ADEE offers no such scholarships.
In the interest of your IT security, please do not respond to such emails, do not open any attachments, do not provide any personal data and do not make payment. We remind you that ADEE has a single bank account bassed in Dublin and it is in the name of ADEE. No other bank accounts are used for ADEE transactions. To validate bank account number please email Judith.
If you have any concerns please contact the office by telephone.
