The approach of the meeting is to be one where delegates will work to develop a consensus or position paper on the selected themes. The output to be available for use by the members of ADEA and ADEE helping guide them in responding to the challenges and opportunities they now experience.
Parallel sessions will be jointly chaired by selected members from the USA and Europe supported by junior faculty for record taking and paper writing. There is an open competition for junior faculty to be considered as Rapporteurs.
Sessions will be highly interactive with small to medium sized groups 30 working together with a chair and rapporteur on core themes and reporting back to the plenary. Up to six hours of protected discussion time will be provided to enable the sharing of the evolving consensus document with the various themes.
To ensure an effective and productive experience delegates will be expected to perform some preparatory reading and give consideration to draft position papers in advance of attendance.
