We appreciate that navigating you way through a large city such as central London can be daunting so the following information is provided to help smooth your journey. Delegates will of course have their own preferences with regards transport and the use of taxis but with London’s highly integrated public transport system getting from your arrival airport to the meeting venue can be simple and inexpensive if you plan ahead.
The venue ‘New Hunt’s House’ is located in King’s College London’s Guys Campus which is just a few minutes’ walk from London Bridge Station. The station is a large multi service station serving underground, bus and national rail services. London Bridge is serviced by the Jubilee and Northern underground lines.
Using public transport to arrive at London Bridge Station: The majority of delegates will be arriving into one of London’s five main Airports. Below you will find some guidance applicable to each option. In all cases if you plan on using a train services we advise you to book well in advance as there is considerable savings to be made by doing so. If you arrive at Heathrow and plan on using public transport during your visit we recommend you purchase a pay as you go travel card called Oyster. This cost £10 including an initial travel credit however for the duration of your visit we suggest you front load it with £20. You can easily top up at a later stage.
Arriving at Heathrow Airport: The Underground from Heathrow to London Bridge will take about 60 minutes and cost about £7. Take the Piccadilly to Green Park station (49 minutes) change on to the Jubilee line going East and get off at London Bridge station (8 minutes). The underground is frequent and waiting times should be about 5 to 10 minutes.
There is also the Heathrow Express to Paddington station at a cost of £25 to £30 which takes only 15 minutes but then requires an underground journey to London Bridge station. At Paddington, take the Bakerloo Line to Baker Street then Jubilee line to London Bridge (approx. 16 minutes travel time)

Arriving at Gatwick Airport: Trains take between 32 mins and 1 h 08mins from Gatwick airport to London Bridge Station. The faster trains are direct and some of the slower trains require a change at East Croydon station. Prices are usually between £10 and £12 depending upon time and routing.
The Gatwick Express train takes 30 minutes to Victoria station at a cost of £25 to £35. A change to the underground will be required. Take Circle and District Line to Westminster Underground station then the Jubilee line to London Bridge.
Arriving at London City Airport: Take the DLR ( Docklands Light Railway) from the London City Airport to Canning Town station, takes 6 minutes and the DLR are every 10 minutes, change onto the Jubilee Underground line heading west, takes 11 minutes and trains are every 5 minutes to London Bridge Station. Prices are between £3 and £7.

Arriving at Luton Airport: Train will take between 1h 20 and 1h 30 minutes and will require two changes. Prices are between £16 and £20 details can be found on http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/
Taxis from Luton Airport to London Bridge Station take about 70 minutes depending upon traffic and cost between £60 and £75 with http://www.simplyairports.co.uk/
Arriving at Stansted Airport: Trains take about 55 to 1 h 10 minutes and will cost between £22 and £25. A change is required at Liverpool Street Station to get on to the underground. The fasted journeys are on the Stansted Express. From Liverpool street take the Central Line to Bank then Northern Line to London Bridge Station.

Eurostar arrivals: Eurostar trains arrives at St Pancras Station and the Northern line underground goes to London Bridge Station in 18 minutes every 5 minutes at a cost of £4-£6.
Tips for using the underground: Some stations can be very large and require walking to change lines. It is best to take your time as trains operate frequently. Be conscious of pick-pockets and your belongings. Signage is normally clear once you understand where you stop or connecting station is in relation to the direction of the train.
Exiting London Bridge Station and walking to New Hunt’s House: Regardless of how you arrive at London Bridge station, you should follow the exit signs for ‘The Shard’ and Guy’s Hospital. You will arrive at a street junction of ‘Thomas Street’ and ‘Great Maze Pond’. Walk across Thomas Street into Great Maze Pond until you see New Hunt’s House on your right. On your left is the main Hospital Tower building.
London Bridge station and its surrounding environs are undergoing considerable renovation at present so we urge you to follow pedestrian crossings and the instructions of site safety officers operating on the streets.
