ADEE announces recipients of 40th Anniversary Scholarship (2015-2016 award)
The ADEE Executive at it’s Spring meeting in Vilnius on 26th February formally accepted the recommendation of the ADEE 40th Anniversary Scholarship Committee for the 2015-2016 application process.
Following comprehensive evaluation and given the high level of applications received the Scholarship Committee chaired by Professor Damien Walmsley recommended the division of the available fund of €10,000 equally amongst the top five highest ranking applications.
ADEE is therefore awarding €2,000 to each of the following 5 Doctorate applicants:
Peter Fine, UCL Eastman Dental Institute, UK, taking a PhD programme
Sally Hanks, Plymouth University Peninsula Schools Of Medicine And Dentistry, UK, taking a PhD programme in Medical Education
Cesar Orsini, University Of Glasgow, UK, taking a Professional Doctorate In Health Professions Education
Carlos Serrano Petrillo, ACTA, NL, Taking a PhD programme in Dental Education
Margaret Jane Wardman, School Of Dentistry, University Of Leeds, UK, taking a PhD Programme
Professor Corrado Paganelli (ADEE President) speaking at the Executive Meeting expressed the congratulations of ADEE to each of the recipients and stated the Executive and general membership will look forward to following each recipients progress in the coming months and years. ADEE wishes them all the very best in the completion of their studies.
About the ADEE 40th Anniversary Scholarship Programme
The ADEE 40th Anniversary Scholarship is aimed at member schools that currently have individuals participating in Master and Doctorate programmes in dental education. ADEE wishes to support those members who are currently undertaking Masters or Doctorate level programmes that are focused on Dental Education. Such programmes normally lead to the award of M.Ed, MA (Ed), EdD or PhD. The ADEE Executive made available a total fund of €10,000 for the academic year 2015 – 2016. Applications which closed in October 2015 were of a very high calibre.
