ADEE Officers attend ADEA 2019 Celebrating of Collaborative Spirit
ADEE President Prof Stephanie Tubert Jeannin, Secretary General Prof Cristina Manzanares, ADEE administrator Mr Denis Murphy along with IFDEA Chair Prof Corrado Paganelli attended ADEA 2019 Celebrating of Collaborative Spirit in Chicago, USA.
The annual ADEA session is always a busy and productive time where ADEE has historically made strong collaborative links with international colleagues and associations. 2019 was no exception with over 2600 international delegates in attendance in Chicago.
This year prof Tubert Jeannin participated in a panel discussion hosted by the ADEA chair of the Board which focused on ‘International Collaboration to Advance Dental Education’, Prof Tubert emphasised the importance of collegiality and consensus making to enabling strong collaboration as well as the important role current students will play in delivery of public health. The session was attended by a diverse range of delegates with questions focusing on political, social and other challenges that help or hinder collaborative attempts. The session was very well received and evaluated.
ADEE and ADEA also hosted a collaborative SIG as part of the programme session where we shared with delegates the history of our collaborative activities and importantly the planned ADEA/ADEE meeting Shaping the Future of Dental Education II hosted by Brescia University 25th to 27th April. This session again stressed how important collaboration is to our international colleagues.
While attending the ADEA opening plenary session Mr Denis Murphy ADEE administrator received a Chair of the ADEA board citation in recognition of his collaborative approach to working on behalf of ADEE with other associations and their staff.
