Call to action: Increase your involvement in ADEE governance
Do you have a commitment to the advancement of dental education? Do you have a vision for the future where we have a higher standard of dental education in Europe? Do you value the convergence of curricula and a harmonised approach to dental education within Europe ? Do you have time and energy to commit to ADEE? If so now is the time to get involved.
Over the coming months and years, the ADEE governing bodies will have a sequence of upcoming vacancies. Members will know that it is the constitutional responsibility of the nominations committee to make recommendations on Executive membership. So that the nominations committee can have a wide and inclusive span of ADEE membership in its recruitment process, we are now calling on all interested parties to express their interest in joining the Executive Committee over the coming 3 to 4 years.
The application process entails submission of:
A letter of application stating why you wish to join the ADEE Executive and what is the single key item you would like to achieve if appointed
A brief statement (no more than 200 words in English) of why you feel you are a suitable candidate for consideration
A concise summary of your CV, highlighting in particular your level and involvement in dental education at a national and European level including participation in similar societies
Outline any specific skills you have that may be of benefit to ADEE, governance, social media, finance, strategy etc
Applications should be emailed to the nominations committee at email@example.com. Applications are considered throughout the year however to be included for consideration in recommendations being made at the 2018 General Assembly your application must be received no later than 15th June.
The Executive will recommend 2 members for appointment as co-opted executive members for a period covering 1st Sept 2018 to 31st Dec 2019. The purpose of these co-options is to give individuals the opportunity to sample the activities of the Executive for a short period of time. Persons who have been appointed to these co-opted positions may in the further be appoint to a more permanent longer term appoint on the executive.
Shortlisting and panel formation will apply. Application is no guarantee of appointment as it is expected there will be considerable interest in appointments. Appointments will be made on a skills match/gap basis.
