Following extensive feedback from previous meeting’s the ADEE special Interest Groups (SIG) are being reformed and updated at the Vilnius Meeting. Delegates advised that felt there were too many Special Interest Groups to choose from and in some case delegates considered there was overlap in content.
With the collaboration and cooperation of the SIG leaders the ADEE Executive agreed to reform the SIG on offer. This resulted in the combination of some SIG’s within a broader scope, renaming others, ending some that had reached an natural end of life and converted some into a workshop format which better suited the topic.
Therefore, at ADEE 2017 in Vilnius delegates will have a selection of ten SIG’s to attend over a two day period of the meeting.
Delegates should monitor this page for ongoing programme information of the individual SIGS as they become available.

Medical and Surgical competences in Dental Education
Formerly the "General Medicine and Surgery in Dentistry” the SIG will continue to explore best practice in dental education in the area of medical and surgical competences and how they related to the dental curriculum.
A continuing SIG in collaboration with the European Dental Students Association focusing on Education Objectives and in particular on the clinical training students undertaken at different European dental schools.
The worldwide ongoing growth of esthetic dentistry leads to an increasing demand for this problem and necessitates increasing consideration both in undergraduate and postgraduate level with the aim of defining structured and homogenous curricular contents for developing and performing interdisciplinary treatment strategies.
This SIG aims to analyze the current educational status, to define future needs and to purpose educational formats for the university curricula, as well for the area of Continuing Professional Development.
